After Pilsen was Vimperk the second Czech town, where already in the 15th century were printed books. Until 1930 printed "vimperska" printer more than 34 million calendars and over 96 million of prayer books in more than twenty languages. Except of these types, were printed books for young people and others. Printing Production resumed in Vimperk beyond 2 World War II, from 50th of the last century, the local printer was specializing in book production and was famous because of miniature prints bound in the leather - "humming-bird" and printing of bibliophiles. After the privatization of the printer in r.1993 but the operation did not have a long duration, and production has been stopped in 2003!
